An autobiographical musical – a unique true story by Mark Glentworth
Suitable for Age 14 +
Mark Glentworth brings his award-winning autobiographical musical SEVEN and a half YEARS to the Rotunda Theatre Bubble at the Brighton Fringe.
This is a unique true story told through music of the life of successful musician/composer Mark Glentworth and how he retreated inside his own home from 2010 to 2017. When he emerged, Mark began rebuilding his life by creating this piece of music theatre to share his experience and tell an uplifting story for our times which through its songs, touches on issues including well-being and mental health, loss, grief, love, and rebirth.
At the age of 16, Mark Glentworth was one of the youngest students to study percussion at the Royal Northern College of Music. After graduating he worked as a freelance percussionist in all styles of music. He has worked with Steven Berkoff, Sir John Gielgud, Sir Peter Maxwell Davis’s Fires Of London, The BBC Symphony Orchestra and The London Sinfonietta. His composition work has covered a wide spectrum of music ranging from commercial songwriting through to orchestral composition and opera. Mark is the composer of the world-famous vibraphone solo ‘Blues for Gilbert’ the most performed, recorded and studied solo tuned percussion piece of all time.
