What's on/Buxton Fringe 2020/Captain Breadbeard

A surreal 2-handed comedy sketch show about a sailor with a beard made of bread and his sidekick, Davy Scones. Fast-paced, pun-tastic and bready-brilliant… complete with chicken walking tutorials, cracker eating contests and buttered bread experiments. When you look at the world through glasses made of bread, loaf will never be the same!

Have you ever taken the time to consider the dangers that people with floury facial fuzz encounter every day? Captain Breadbeard will take you on an energetic and shameless pun-filled journey of enlightenment. And to put the icing on the cake, the performers are real-loaf son and father-in-law.

REVIEWS

"A kids' show made for grown-ups. A wonderfully funny and playful hour of entertainment that will make you laugh your socks off... So totally, absolutely, barking mad bonkers and bizarre that there’s no way it should work, but it does.”

★★★★ Page on Stage

“What the two performers in this show create is at the same time both eye-wateringly hilarious and indescribably sweet. Baguette a move on and buy your tickets!"

Canterbury Shakespeare Director

“This is brave, childishly satisfying & silly comedy at it’s best… I really didn’t know you could have so much fun with bread!”

Brighton Fringe Audience
