LA is burning. When a pair of old Angelenos lose everything, they must navigate overwhelming grief, toxic ash and paperwork purgatory, surrounded by clueless celebs, soulless politicians and insurance vampires. 6000 miles away, their (very) anxious daughter is trying hard not to unravel.
Fringe Theatre Awards 2x nominee Burn Baby Burn is a stripped-back, sharp-witted mix of storytelling, satire and songs, exploring the human cost of climate change and the humans fanning the flames. Asking questions nobody wants to answer like: why was LA’s biggest reservoir empty? What the hell is a ‘firenado’? And how did 80s icon Steve Guttenberg become a low-key hero?
With a childhood shaped by wildfires and her parents home destroyed in January 2025's blaze, Hunter's done what any good performer would do...turned her heartbreak and existential dread into a hilarious and heartbreaking show. Following her acclaimed debut solo show, in partnership with Slackline Productions, champion of women 35+.
Running time: 60min
Suitable for Age 12+
Warnings: Mild swearing, fire alarm SFX, mature references to the tragedy of natural disaster.
