The structure below is an example of our current deal with artists performing at Buxton Fringe. We aim to work on a Box Office Split with all visiting artists, although percentages could vary for different festivals, so do get in touch to find out more!
At Buxton Fringe, we usually work on a 70/30 Box Office split in the visiting companies favour, with a 4% ticket processing fee.
There is also guarantee facilities fees required for each 1 hour slot. This fee ranges from £50 (morning slots), £100 (afternoon slots) and £150 (peak hour slots).
A deposit of 50% of the guarantee facilities fee is required on booking.
Check out the calculations below.
Each 1 hour slot has a 15 minute get in and 15 minute get out either side of it, so keep that in mind when designing sets etc.
Tech times are assigned at a later date but we will endeavour to make them as convenient as possible.
There is also a compulsory publicity fee (£TBC) for inclusion in our venue brochure, on our posters, FOH display and on our website.
Please note you will have to register with Buxton Fringe yourself.
So how is the 70/30 split calculated?
If you book 2x peak hour slots (£150 each) your guaranteed facilities fee will be £300. The 50% deposit will be £150 – this means that on the signing of the contract you will need to pay us £150 plus the compulsory publicity fee. Our recommended ticket price is £12, but you are welcome to choose your own prices.
If over the 2 performances your final ticket sales are = £720
Final Sales (minus Ticket processing fee 4%) = £720 - £28.80 = £691.20
Facilities Fee of 30% = £300
(30% of the final sales is actually £207.36 but the guaranteed fee is £300, so £300 will be taken from the final sales amount.)
Total amount due to you = £391.20
Plus deposit paid = £150
Total amount paid to you = 541.20
If over the 2 performances your final ticket sales are = £1200
Final Sales (minus Ticket processing fee 4%) = £1200 - £48 = £1152
Facilities Fee of 30% = £345.60 (30% of the final sales is over the guarantee fee)
Total amount due to you (70% of final sales) = £806.40
Plus deposit paid = £150
Total amount paid to you = £956.40
